Wedding To-DO list!

Wedding to do list:

Hello readers! Being an invitation specialista I thought a wedding stationery to-do list was fitting for all the newly engaged couples out there… (plus a few more for fun!) it starts about a year out from your wedding date. Not to say that a 6 month engagement is no doable. I did it! I sent my Save the Dates right away! Keep in mind that this is a very basic list. There are many out there on www.knot.com, and many others that you can pull more detailed lists from.

10-12 months prior
  • Choose a tentative wedding date
  • Create your guest lists-for Save the Dates & Invitations (Save the Dates are sent out 6 months before; usually to out of town guests for planning time)
  • Choose wedding party
  • Gather ideas for Save the Dates & Invitations…. give later to Snazzylime or another wedding invitation designer so they know your personal style. They will create something custom for you.
  • Book your reception site
  • Book your Save the Dates & Invitations (with Snazzylime of course :)
6-9 months prior
  • Send Save the Dates to your out of town guests
  • Look for your wedding dress & bridesmaids dresses
  • Finalize contracts with vendors (Photographer, 7 videographer if applicable)
5-4 months prior
  • Purchase wedding rings
  • View invitation styles, provided by Snazzyime of course, and choose the layout you like. Snazzylime will take care of wording woes and delivery.
  • Gather ideas for wedding favors.
  • Confirm dates for bridal showers & bachelorette parties. Snazzylime can also work with your bridesmaids for these invitations!

3-2 months prior
  • Finalize guest list and submit quantity to Snazzylime… #more shameless self promotion
  • Book make-up & hairstylist
  • Mail invitations 8 weeks prior
  • Finalize rehearsal plans & order invitations for rehearsal, have menus printed, (Snazzylime can do all of these things-Plus help think of clever ideas for the reception) figure out table numbers, escort cards, programs, and any other stationery items you may require.
  • Select music for ceremony, reception and confirm these with band/DJ
2-1 months
  • Write thank you note from bridal showers
  • Plan bridesmaids dinner/luncheon/or activity to spend some time with them and hand out gifts
  • Mail rehearsal dinner invitations
  • Call guests that haven’t RSVP’d
3-1 weeks
  • Pick up wedding rings.
  • Pick up wedding dress and accessories.
  • Finalize vows for ceremony
  • Confirm headcount
  • Confirm times with vendors, & give headcounts
  • Get ceremony & reception items to venues
Day before
  • Get a mani/pedi
  • Rehearse ceremony with all attendants
  • Get some rest
Day of
  • Take a relaxing bath
  • Eat a good breakfast
  • Enjoy your day!
